Really scary haunted houses are popular around Reno and Sparks during Halloween season. Some of these haunted houses have effects that can be frightening even for those who think they are ready. Parents are cautioned to use discretion when taking children to these Halloween events. There is also a new family friendly haunted house, touted as spooky, not scary. Halloween 2024 is on Thursday, October 31. Halloween House RenoOctober 2 through November 2, 2024, you choose the time. Halloween House Reno is a completely immersive, one of a kind Halloween experience where you are transported to an all Halloween world. Every one of our impeccably detailed, fully realized rooms is a different Halloween theme designed to make every Halloween lover’s experience unforgettable. Our goal is to give you an amazing Halloween experience, not scare you to death or make you uncomfortable. No fear. Just fun. Tickets available online. Located at The Outlets, 1330 Scheels Dr. in Sparks. Corn Creepers Haunted Attraction at Andelin Family FarmThursday, Friday, Saturday, October 3 - November 2, 2024. Corn Creepers is the only haunted attraction in a real corn field. It's pretty scary and not recommended for small children. However, there is a an option where visitors can wear a glow necklace and the spooks will tone down the scare factor. Even so, it's not recommended for small children. Base price is $25 per person purchased onine, though there is some variation by date. It is separate from the Corn Maze attraction. Hours are 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Located at 8100 Pyramid Way in Sparks. (775) 530-8032. No pets. It's recommended to buy tickets online. Dark Corner Haunted HouseBilled as Reno's best and scariest, this haunted house is an immersive experience filled with terrifying live actors, jaw dropping special effects, and menacing monsters. Two haunts are featured - one inside, one outside, plus an entertainment zone. Open on Fridays and Saturdays from October 4 to 11, 2024, then Thursdays as well from October 17 to November 2, 2024. Hours are 6:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. most nights. It is recommended to buy advance tickets online - they are more expensive at the door. General admission starts at $19.95. Located at the National Bowling Stadium in downtown Reno, 300 N. Center Street. Fall Festival and Haunted Maze at Ferrari FarmsFridays and Saturdays during October, 2024. The Haunted Maze is part of the Ferrari Farms Fall Festival with corn maze and walk, movies, barn dances, face painting, special events, country store, pet farm animals, school field trips, pumpkins, ice cream, churros, coffee, tap wagon, crafts, fun and more. Sunday – Thursday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Ferrari Farms is at 4701 Mill St. in Reno. The Final Hour Haunted HouseDuring October and Halloween weekend, 2024, every Thursday through Saturday and Halloween, 8 p.m. to midnight. Scariest haunted house with over 10,000 square feet of terror. Professional actors. Not Recommended for children under 8. General admission $28 in advance. 5400 Meadowwood Mall Circle in Reno. The Ambush Haunted HouseOpen October 26 - 31, 2024, 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Till 10 p.m. on Halloween night. This haunted house has been getting bigger and better over the past 15+ years and features 11+ themed rooms. Entrance is free, with a suggested donation to the Northern Nevada Children's Cancer Foundation. Located at 7450 Ambush Circle in Sparks. No scare kids night Tuesday, October 29, 2024. Haunted Hoops at Urban RootsFriday and Saturday, October 18 - 19, 2024, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Join us for our annual haunted hoops where we turn our hoop house into a haunted house. Various haunt levels for little kids on up. There will spooky activities, crafts, yummy food and drinks. Urban Teaching Farm is at 1700 E. 2nd St. in Reno. Tickets are available online from the website. Key & Code Escape RoomsSome escape rooms are scary and offer a different take on the haunted house idea. There are several available, some suited to Halloween like "Dr. Ensaine" and "Virginia City Haunt." Get together with a group of friends, family, or co-workers to see if you can escape in time. Haunted Halloween Happenings in Nearby AreasBats in the Belfry - Virginia City Guided Ghost ToursWednesdays through Sundays during October, 2024. Take a walk through one of America's most haunted cities. Tours are Thursday through Sunday evenings. Reservations required - space is limited. Call (775) 815-1050 or make reservations online. Note: Anyone who is intoxicated or acting inappropriately will be asked to leave the tour or investigation and no refund will be given. People under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Carson City Ghost WalkSaturday, October 19, 2024 for the Halloween time ghost walks. "Madame Curry's Penny Dreadful's" tours will leave every half hour between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. The tours are a spooky and enjoyable way to experience Carson City's Victorian Era and diverse past. Hear about lingering spirits of the past, haunted and paranormal stories. These are guided walking tours of the downtown district's historic homes. Tours depart from McFadden Plaza, located at Curry and Third Street. Tours depart every 1/2 hour and last about 2 hours. Tickets are $25 in advance, $30 at the door. Tours happen rain or shine.
