Update: There will not be a Duck Race and Festival in 2024. There is no further information about when this event will return, if ever.

The Nevada Humane Society Duck Race and Festival will be at Wingfield Park on Saturday, August 12, 2023. Hours are 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The duck race hits the river at 2 p.m. In addition to the duck race itself, other family-friendly things to enjoy include vendors, food trucks, a beer garden, games for the kids, pet adoptions, and more. Admission is free.

The Duck Race and Festival is a benefit event supporting the Nevada Humane Society (NHS) in Reno and Carson City. NHS is a no - kill animal shelter that has achieved national recognition for its outstanding efforts in dealing with homeless pets in the Reno area.

No Dogs: Do not bring your dogs to the event. City of Reno park regulations allow only certified service animals at special events.

Adopt a Duck (or Ducks) for the Duck Race and Festival

Rubber ducks are available for adoption for just $5 each and less per duck when adopted in packages of 5, 13, 25, 50 and so on. You can adopt online or at the Nevada Humane Society shelter in both Reno and Carson City. In addition, ducks are available at many local businesses.

Grand prize is a new car (or $15,000 cash) donated by Carson City Toyota. There will be several other prize packages as well.
