The 2026-2027 school year begins on Monday, August 10, 2026. The Washoe County School District requires that students have current immunizations to enter school. For additional school immunization information, refer to "Immunizations" on the Washoe County School District website.

For immunization information from Northern Nevada Public Health, refer to "Childcare, School, and College Immunization Requirements."

If you cannot locate immunization records, contact your health care provider, visit Immunization Record Info Request, a statewide immunization registry, or call Nevada WebIZ help desk at (775) 684-5954.

Reno Area Community Immunization Locations

Those with insurance should bring their cards. Bring your child's shot records.

Northern Nevada Public Health (NNPH) has appointments available for back-to-school vaccines that are required for children to attend local schools. Parents can make an appointment by calling 775-328-2402, or walk in. The main clinic location is at 1001 E. 9th St., Building B, in Reno. Clinic hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. If you wait until August, wait times are likely to increase.

2026 NNPH Vaccine Events. Appointments are recommended but not required.

  • July 21 - Northern Nevada Hopes Clinic, 580 W. 5th St., Reno; 3 p.m. - 6 p.m.
  • August 1 – Family Health Festival, Hug High School, 3530 Sullivan Lane, Sparks 89431; 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.
  • August 8 – NNPH, 1101 E. 9th Street, Reno 89512; 8 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Visit the website to find places, dates and appointments for Back-to-School Vaccinations. Appointments are preferred, but walk-ins are welcome. Be prepared for long wait times.

More Washoe County and Nevada Vaccination Information

Appointments are required for vaccinations at the Northern Nevada Public Health, and can be made by calling (775) 328-2402 Monday through Friday from 8:15 a.m. and 4 p.m.

The Vaccines for Children Program helps provide vaccines to children whose parents or guardians may not have insurance to cover the cost. These vaccines protect babies, young children and adolescents from a variety of diseases and is a benefit that's available until your child turns 19.
