Admission fees are annually waived at many public lands facilities administered by the federal government on certain holidays and other special days. Other fees, such as for overnight camping and cabin rentals, will still apply.

National Parks Entrance Fee-Free Days in 2026

Bureau of Land Management Fee-Free Days in 2026

Site-specific standard amenity and individual day-use fees at Bureau of Land Management (BLM) recreation sites and areas will be waived on the following dates.

  • February 16: President's Day
  • May 25: Memorial Day
  • June 14: Flag Day
  • July 3 - 5: Independence Day weekend
  • October 27: Theodore Roosevelt's birthday
  • November 11: Veterans Day

U.S. Forest Service (USFS) and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS)

Most of the time, many facilities operated by these two agencies have no entrance fees. For those that do, the following days will be fee-free in 2026.

  • January 20: Martin Luther King Jr. Day - USFS
  • February 16: President's Day - USFS, USFWS
  • May 25: Memorial Day - USFS, USFWS
  • June 13: National Get Outdoors Day - USFS
  • June 14: Flag Day - USFWS
  • July 3 - 5: Independence Day weekend - USFWS
  • July 4: Independence Day - USFS
  • August 25: 110th Birthday of the National Park Service - USFWS
  • September 17: Constitution Day - USFS, USFWS
  • September 26: National Public Lands Day - USFS
  • October 11: First Sunday of National Wildlife Refuge Week - USFWS
  • October 27: Theodore Roosevelt's birthday - USFS, USFWS
  • November 11: Veterans Day - USFS, USFWS
