There's lots to do during summer, 2024. Here are some of your choices for staying active and having fun this summer season.

Challenge Island STEAM Camps

Weekly sessions offered June 17 - August 2, 2024, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (extended care from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. available). Located at High Desert Montessori School in Reno. Camps are for kids entering Kindergarten through 5th grade (5 - 11 yrs.). Engage in the world of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Math with Challenge Island. Taught by licensed NV teachers, children will dive into a world of imagination, innovation and creation through hands-on engineering, designing, building and creating. A different theme is offered each week, from Mission Space Camp, Mine Island Camp, Pets Palooza Camp and lots more.

KIDS University Summer Break Camps

June 17 through July 26, 2024. We have more than 20 different camps offered on multiple weeks. The week-long camps include half day and all day Monday through Friday. Many camps are STEAM based and include art, world cultures, mythology, coding, Harry Potter, space, robotics, cheer and dance, basketball, soccer, yoga, forensic investigation, healthcare, math and zookeeping. Galena Creek Visitor Center Summer Exploration Camp

Weekly sessions from June 10 through August 5, 2024. Both day camps and overnight camps are available. Each camp week is packed with fun adventures, including water games and popsicles to keep campers cool, forest exploration and hikes to connect with nature, creek play for splashing and exploring aquatic ecosystems, and camp group games to build teamwork and foster friendship at camp. Camps are for kids ages 8 to 12 and are held at Galena Creek Visitor Center, Galena Creek Regional Park and other nearby locations. Cost varies depending on which camp is chosen.

Youth Backcountry Camps from Tahoe Rim Trail Association

2024 dates for ages 12 - 14 are June 18 to July 15. For ages 14 - 17, it's July 20 to August 8. There is a camp each week during these dates. This is real camping summer camp for kids. Staff leads kids into the wilderness to share the joy and rewarding challenge of backpacking and wilderness survival through four day backpacking adventures. Participants come away with a sense of responsibility for the outdoors and develop confidence as they overcome a variety of challenges. Summer Break Camps for Kids at Nevada Museum of Art

Camps are in June, July and August, 2024. These are half-day art camps at the Nevada Museum of Art's E.L. Cord Museum School. Kids ages 7 to 15 will enjoy experimenting with clay, painting, marbling, digital and other art mediums and meet new friends during these half-day camps. Camp Discovery at The Discovery Museum

June 17 through August 9, 2024. The Discovery (Terry Lee Wells Nevada Discovery Museum) offers a series of summer camps for kids from 1st through 8th grades. There are numerous themes and sessions for various age groups - grades 1, 2 to 3, 4 to 5, and 6 to 7. You can view the on-site schedule and sign up online for Camp Discovery sessions. Summer Creativity Camps from Arts for All Nevada

Summer camps are in weekly sessions during June, July and August, 2024. Week-long art camps from Arts for All Nevada are offered at the Lake Mansion. Camps are in the mornings from 9 a.m. to 12 noon and afternoons from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Various camps are for kids 6 to 15 years. Summer Outburst Kidz Kamp from Sparks Parks & Recreation

Monday through Friday from June 13 to August 8, 2024. Summer Outburst is available to kids entering 1st through 6th grade and features fun-themed weeks with age appropriate activities, including arts and crafts, water play and active games. These activities are included in the registration fee. Participants are grouped by grade. Vacation Station Summer Camps from the City of Reno

Weekly sessions from June 17 through August 9, 2024. Reno's Department of Parks, Recreation and Community Services offers camps for kids at 5 locations with activities geared for ages 6 to 12.5 years. During the camp, kids will visit area parks, pools, the zoo, and even a trampoline park. They will also go to the movies, participate in arts and crafts and recreate at their designated Vacation Station site. Traditional Summer Camp from Boys & Girls Club of Truckee Meadows

June 17 to August 9, 2024. For kids 6 to 12 and free for teens 13 - 18. Our traditional summer activities include indoor and outdoor games, arts-and-crafts, sports, and many more weekly activities. Each day is structured with intentional programming beginning with awesome summer brain gain enrichment programs and ending with more physical play. Specialty Summer Camps from Boys & Girls Club of Truckee Meadows

Camp Lotsafun

Full for 2024. Amplify Life is the home of Camp Lotsafun, a summer sleep away camp for adults with disabilities, that is held every summer. Our campers spend five nights in cabins, hiking, doing arts and crafts, swimming and enjoying the outdoors. Summer camps are held at Eagle Lake in northern California. UNR College of Engineering Summer Camps

4 camps from June 24 through July 26, 2024. The College of Engineering at the University of Nevada, Reno is offering Engineering Everywhere camp for 12 - 14 year olds, Engineering Exploration camp for 15 to 17 year olds, Engineering Adventures camp for 12 to 14 year olds, and Civil and Environmental Engineering camp for 15 to 17 year olds. These camps are introductions to engineering and are led by UNR engineering students. They are held in various engineering buildings on campus. Great Basin Outdoor School Summer Adventure Day Camp

Six weekly sessions from June 10 through July 26, 2024, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Activities include hikes around Mayberry Park, river ecology, hands-on discovery, songs, team-building, games, arts and crafts, and presentations by guest experts. Takes place at the River School Farm in Reno, 7777 White Fir St. Cost is $240 for one child for one full week, with sibling discounts available. Before and after care available. Student Stewards Summer Camp at Idlewild Park

Weekly camps run from June 10 through August 9, 2024, with a different theme each week. Truckee Meadows Parks Foundation is sponsoring these summer camps held outdoors at Idlewild Park in Reno. Camps are for kids 8 to 12 years old. Camps include outdoor exploration, hands-on activities, experiments, games, crafts, and more. Junior Explorers Summer Camp at Rosewood Nature Study Area

June 17 - July 5, 2024. Sponsored by Truckee Meadows Parks Foundation. STEAM based camps are for ages 6 to 8. These special week-long sessions, facilitated by Sierra Nevada Journeys, will be offered for 5 weeks at Rosewood Nature Study Area. Each weekly session has a different theme. Reno Rocket Riders Kids Summer Camp

Mountain bike camp for kids ages 6 to 12. 2024 camps are June 10 - 14, July 8 - 12 and August 5 - 9, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. During these summer camps, little (and big) rocketeers will learn how to ride their bikes on grass, dirt, rocks and mountain trails in a fun and supportive environment. This five-day curriculum focuses on bike control skills and confidence building. We will be riding some of the best Lake Tahoe and Reno mountain bike trails. Online registration available.

KidScape Productions Summer Camps

Full play camp will run from July 8 - 12, 2024. KidScape camps focus on acting, theater and improv comedy. The full play camps are for kids ages 7 to 17. Brüka Theatre's Summer Youth Intensive Workshop

July 15 - 27, 2024. This camp open to 22 participants ages 11 to 17. Join us for a truly experimental and inspiring dramatic experience in which young artists are nurtured in a positive and creative theatre environment. There are 1 day, 3 day, 4 day and 5 day camps, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Camps for young climbers (ages 7 to 13) not only develop children and young adults into strong, competent and safe rock climbers, but also responsible and respectful community members as well. These skills are all acquired through the lens of community care, self growth, leadership, and self awareness. Camp activities are tailored to each child based on their age and experience level. Caughlin Athletic Club Summer Camp

June 10 through August 12, 2024. The these camps feature tennis and pickleball. There are weekly camp sessions for kids 4 to 6, 6 to 13 and 6 to 17. Off-court activities include water games, soccer, capture the flag, kickball and frisbee. Weekly fee is $120 to $230, with daily drop-ins available. Camp Invention

June 17 - 21, 2024, 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Children (K - 6th grade) are presented with fun, hands-on challenges that encourage creative problem solving, teamwork, entrepreneurship, and innovation. Acro Enso Summer Camps

Weekly sessions from June 10 through August 9, 2024. Camps by age groups for kids ages 3 to 5, 6+ and 12+. Camps are fun-filled week long sessions where students learn exciting movement in circus arts including Aerials(silks/lyra), Partner Acrobatics, Tumbling, Cyr Wheel and more. Northern Nevada Baseball Club Camp at Greater Nevada Field

Monday to Wednesday, July 29 - 31, 2024, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Reno Aces are welcoming kids ages 9 to 13 to their three-day camp at Greater Nevada Field. Along with three days of instruction from two former MLB players, participants will receive lunch each day and a ticket to an Aces game. This is an opportunity to play at Greater Nevada Field and utilize a Major League-quality training facility. The cost is $315. You can register online.

Brookfield School Biggest Little Summer Camp

June 17 through August 16, 2024. Biggest Little Bear Summer Camp is for young campers (ages 1 to 4 years), with a different theme each week. Summer Camps at Lake Tahoe and Other Nearby Areas

Lake Tahoe Music Camp

July 21 - 27, 2024. Lake Tahoe Music Camp is a sleep away camp committed to providing a memorable and exceptional musical education experience for music students (completing 6th – 12th grades). Situated on its own private beach, Lake Tahoe Music Camp offers jazz and classical music workshops, clinics, performances, mentoring and instruction with award-winning University faculty, guest conductors and professional chamber and jazz musicians. In their free-time every afternoon, students can play basketball, volleyball, ping-pong, swim in the lake, canoe, kayak and participate in organized recreational activities.
