Big events during July, 2026 include... Washoe County Regional Parks and Open Space - month of July, 2026. Check out the Calendar of Events for a big list of fun activities all around the Reno / Sparks area during July, 2026. There are a bunch, and too many to list here. Summer Music Series at Lazy 5 Regional Park - Wednesday, July 1, 2026. Today's show is by Greg Golden. Other concerts with a variety of entertainers will follow on Wednesday evenings through August 12. Concerts are free and begin at 6:30 p.m. Bring the family and a picnic to enjoy the show. No pets, smoking or glass containers allowed. Lazy 5 Regional Park is at 7100 Pyramid Way out in Spanish Springs. 2026 Summer Reading Challenge - through July 31, 2026. This year's theme is "Unearth a Story." Washoe County Library uses Beanstack for all our reading challenges. Visit our Beanstack page to create an account online. Just sign in if you already have an account. To help keep track of your reading between logins, pick up a reading log from any Washoe County Library branch or download one from the webpage. For other fun free stuff going on at the libraries, refer to "Free Events and Programs at Washoe County Libraries." Artown Opening Night - Wednesday, July 1, 2026. Artown opening night is at Rancho San Rafael Regional Park and features Smash Mouth, a Grammy-nominated, multi-platinum American rock band whose unmistakable sound and feel-good energy helped define late-'90s and early-2000s pop culture. This is a free show, from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. It's just the beginning of Artown, with things to do, see and enjoy through July 31. Harmony on the River - every Tuesday through August 25, 2026, 6:30 p.m. Join small ensembles of the Reno Philharmoic Orchestra at West Street Plaza every Tuesday for beautiful performances by Reno Phil musicians. Performances are free. Galena Campfire Programs - Overland Band - Friday, July 3, 2026, 7:30 p.m. Remember the fun had around the campfire as a kid? The Galena Campfire Programs are all about sharing that experience with the family. A different presenter is featured each week, including a variety of cultural music experiences, plus fun educational programs and marshmallow roasting. Blankets, low-back chairs, bug spray and flashlights are recommended. The programs are free, though donations of $5 per person are encouraged. Every Friday through August 7, 2026. At Eagle Meadow, Galena Creek Regional Park, North Entrance, 18250 Mt. Rose Hwy., Reno. 4th of July Fireworks and Celebrations - Saturday, July 4, 2026. Check out the big fireworks lighting up the skies, plus other 4th of July activities going on around the area. Guided Walking Tours from HRPS - Sunday, July 5, 2026. The first guided walking tour in July from the Historic Reno Preservation Society is actually a bicycle tour - "Reno Parks' History" at 8:30 a.m. Several more walks are scheduled for Tuesdays and Saturdays in July. Join in to learn about many aspects of Reno's colorful history. Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival - July 3 - August 24, 2026. Come to Sand Harbor at Lake Tahoe to enjoy Shakespeare performances and other entertainment. These shows are held in what's been called America's most beautiful venue. The main play this year is "Macbeth," accompanied by "The Heart of Robin Hood." Visit my article for details about tickets, seating, getting to Sand Harbor and other important information. Red, White and Tahoe Blue - Saturday, July 4, 2026, 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Join the Tahoe Philharmonic Orchestra and Chorus for a stirring Fourth of July celebration under the stars. This patriotic concert features American pops and classics, including the Armed Forces Medley, Battle Hymn of the Republic, and Stars and Stripes Forever by Sousa. Bring your family, your flags, and your spirit of celebration for an unforgettable evening of music and national pride. At Bartley Ranch Regional Park, 6000 Bartley Ranch Rd in Reno. American Century Championship - Wednesday through Sunday, July 8 - 12, 2026. The annual American Century Championship celebrity golf tournament will be at Edgewood Tahoe South golf course near South Lake Tahoe and Stateline. Players have been Charles Barkley, Tony Romo, Larry the Cable Guy, Roger Clemens, Stephen Curry, John Elway, Andre Iguodala, Heather LeMaster, Dan Quayle, Bret Saberhagen, Joe Theismann, Michael Waltrip, and many, many more. Tickets are only available online. Evenings on the Ranch - Jason King Band - Wednesday, July 8, 2026, 7 p.m. to 8 a.m. Please join us in welcoming the Jason King Band to Evenings on the Ranch. The band plays a mix of Blues, Classic Rock, Soul & Americana artist along with original compositions & dance music. Bartley Ranch Regional Park, Western Heritage Interpretive Center, 6000 Bartley Ranch Rd., Reno. Classical Tahoe - July 11 - August 9, 2026. Each summer, Classical Tahoe brings together America's leading classical musicians for a concert series that delights audiences with its superb musicians, intimate outdoor pavilion, educational programs, and majestic Lake Tahoe settings. The performance schedule and tickets are available online. Hands ON! Second Saturday at the Nevada Museum of Art - Saturday, July 11, 2026. Come to the Nevada Museum of Art for fun for the whole family, including storytelling, art activities, live performances, and all current exhibits. Admission to the Museum is free for all on Second Saturday. Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Silver Age Comic Con - Saturday and Sunday, July 11 - 12, 2026, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Silver Age Comic Con is the largest pop culture event in northern Nevada that brings all fandoms together. Sierra Nevada Lavender & Honey Festival - Sunday, July 12, 2026, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. This "scent-sational" event features all things lavender and honey along with arts and crafts, food, demonstrations, music, entertainment, and more. Free Artown event at the McKinley Arts and Culture Center, 925 Riverside Dr. in Reno. Be My Neighbor Day - Saturday, July 18, 2026, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Free community event sponsored by PBS Reno and other organizations. Be My Neighbor Day is a family-friendly event promoting early childhood education, health, safety and values highlighted on Daniel Tiger and Mister Rogers' Neighborhood. Children and parents alike will learn the importance of community-focused kindness and sharing by giving back to the community in which we live. Donations accepted for Food Bank of Northern Nevada, Boys & Girls Club of Truckee Meadows, and Children's Cabinet. At Idlewild Park in Reno. Night in the Country Music Festival - Thursday through Saturday, July 23 - 25, 2026. Nevada's longest running country music festival is held in Yerington. This year, the festival will bring in big-name artists with Shenandoah, Cole Swindell, Jordan Davis, and lots more. The main stage will feature several acts each night. Galena Campfire Programs - Sagebrush Rebels - Friday, July 24, 2026, 7:30 p.m. Remember the fun had around the campfire as a kid? The Galena Campfire Program Series is all about sharing that experience with the family. Biggest Little City Wingfest - Friday through Sunday, July 31 to August 2, 2026. Downtown Reno will host the 12th Annual Biggest Little City Wing Fest. More than 20,000 pounds of chicken wings will be slathered in sauce, smoked, fired and grilled to perfection. The competition will be fierce during the sauce show down. This year's event will feature free live entertainment and a craft fair, camel rides, face painting, bungee jumping, and lots more. 1 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday, 12 noon to 10 p.m. Saturday, 12 noon to 9 p.m. Sunday. Along Virginia Street in downtown Reno. Artown Closing Night - Playing for Change - Friday, July 31, 2026. Playing For Change was created to inspire and connect the world through music.
