Daylight Saving Time ends - Sunday, November 5, 2017. Set clocks back 1 hour.

Off Beat Music Festival - Thursday through Saturday, November 2 - 4, 2017. This 3rd annual festival will feature 100+ bands and solo artists at different venues around town. Most acts are local, but some are coming from New York, Portland, San Francisco, Seattle, LA, and many more locations. Some venues are all-ages, the others being 21+. There are various ticket options depending on what you want to see and do. Ticket information is available online.

Barrels & Bites benefit for the Boys & Girls Club of Truckee Meadows - Friday, November 3, 2017. Northern Nevada's premier event for food, wine, beer and spirit connoisseurs. In addition to wines from world-renowned vineyards, attendees sample fine beers, spirits, specialty cocktails and cuisine within themed areas in the venue. A silent and live auction with all proceeds benefiting the Boys & Girls Club. Tickets are $75. The event is from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Tuscany Ballroom at the Peppermill Reno, 2707 S. Virginia St.

Free Fall Photo Hikes - Saturday, November 4, 2017. Join Washoe County park rangers to explore some of the Reno area's most scenic hiking trails. These hikes provide amateur photographers and hiking enthusiasts with the opportunity to capture their own spectacular fall photography. This final hike in the series is at Davis Creek Regional Park.

Run with the Girls - Sunday, November 5, 2017. Choose from a 5K walk or run or a 10K run. A portion of the proceeds go to Girls on the Run-Sierras program. Boy and men are encouraged to run or walk, too. This is a great event for competitive runners, recreational runners, race rookies, event veterans and walkers of all abilities. TMPF Talks: Busting Nature's Myths - Monday, November 6, 2017, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Presented by Truckee Meadows Parks Foundation. In this talk, local experts break down the fact and the fiction of the natural world around us. Visit the website for more details. (775) 410-1702.

Reno Bighorns Basketball - Friday, November 10, 2017, 7 p.m. The Reno Bighorns open their 2017 - 2018 season of home games vs. the Austin Spurs. Bighorns games are played at the downtown Reno Events Center, 400 N. Center Street. Additional homes games this month will be on November 11, 17, 19, 25 and 27.

Reno Veterans Day Parade - Saturday, November 11, 2017. Honor our troops and enjoy this parade of ROTC groups from regional high schools, university and high school marching bands, honor guards and other groups representing all the services, other groups wanting to honor the military service of our veterans, and groups representing various veterans' organizations. The parade traditionally gets underway at 11:11 a.m. and marches down Virginia Street through downtown Reno.

Fall Showcase with Note-Able Music Therapy Services - Saturday, November 11, 2017. The show will be on the big stage at Cargo in the Whitney Peak Hotel, 255 N. Virginia St. Come join the fun, cheering all of our participants on and singing with The Note-Ables. There will also be a raffle silent auction. The show starts at 7 p.m. Tickets are $15, kids 5 and under are free. Tickets are available online from the website or by calling (775) 324-5521.

Wolf Pack Football - Saturday, November 11, 2017. The Nevada Wolf Pack football team takes on the San Jose State Spartans at Mackay Stadium in Reno. Kickoff is TBA. Go Pack!

Hands ON! Second Saturdays - Saturday, November 11, 2017. Come to the Nevada Museum of Art for a day of fun family activities and free admission for all. Enjoy free admission and activities at the Museum. Participate in hands-on art projects and storytelling. Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Science Saturdays at the National Automobile Museum - Saturday, November 11, 2017. Join in on the adventures that are out of this world, with "Eating in Space." Admission is $12 per person for children and adults, which also includes admission to the Museum. For participants age 8 and up. Children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult. Chemistry of the Cocktail at The Discovery - Friday, November 17, 2017, 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Join A T. rex Named Sue at this year's Chemistry of the Cocktail, The Discovery's premier fundraising event, and prepare for a colossal exploration into the science behind the craft of paleontologically-themed martinis and other cocktails. Add to that delicious fare from your favorite local culinary hot spots, and you have the recipe for a great way to support the museum. This is an adults-only fundraiser for The Discovery, 490 S. 2017 Polar Express on the V&T Railroad - First trip in 2017 is on Saturday, November 18. Plan ahead - getting advance tickets is a must for those wanting to ride the Polar Express to the North Pole this holiday season.

Lake Mansion Jingles - Free Family Art Festival - Saturday, November 18, 2017, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Arts for All Nevada (AFAN) is presenting this event with art stations for kids, face painting, a free book for each child, tours of the Lake Mansion, photos and visits with Santa, and more. Free parking in the AFAN lot or metered parking on nearby streets. Donations accepted allowing AFAN to continue conducting our annual free and open-to-the-public Family Art Festivals in November, March and July. Home 4 the Holidays Craft Fair at Nevada Humane Society - Saturday, November 18, 2017, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Fair will feature a wide variety of local vendors selling handcrafted art, jewelry, and many pet related gifts and pet supplies that will make great holiday gifts for the animal lovers on your shopping list. Artists who participate will be contributing a percentage of their sales to help the homeless pets at Nevada Humane Society, 2825 Longley Lane in Reno. Admission is free. (775) 856-2000.

Reno Onesie Crawl - The Great Pajama Jam - Saturday, November 18, 2017. Experience the freedom of partying in your jammies at the Reno Onesie Crawl (previously the Pajama Crawl). It starts and 8 p.m. and lasts way past your normal bedtime. For only $5, crawlers get cover-free access to over 20 downtown Reno bars, drink specials, costume contests, live entertainment, give-aways, hotel discounts, and more. Cups are available online or you get them the night of the crawl at one of the start bars.

Headlock on Hunger - Saturday, November 18, 2017, 7 p.m. This event is a night of family friendly, professional wrestling at Reed High School, 1350 Baring Boulevard in Sparks. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. and admission is only $5. All proceeds will be donated to the Food Bank of Northern Nevada. Headlock on Hunger is a campaign and non-profit event that aims to raise awareness, and combat the hunger issue affecting the children of the Truckee Meadows. Tickets are available online.

11th Annual Meet the Turkeys Open House at Rancho San Rafael Regional Park - Saturday, November 18, 2017. Celebrate the season of the turkey by bringing the family to Rancho San Rafael Regional Park for this free event from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Activities include horse and pony rides ($5, Lorie's Pony Express), farm animals, Moolisa the milking cow, fall crafts, scavenger hunts, and live turkeys. Bring your camera for fall and Thanksgiving photos with the turkeys.

Tipsy Turkey Wine Walk - Saturday, November 18, 2017. The Riverwalk Merchants present this fun event every third Saturday of the month. In November, it's themed for Thanksgiving and costumes are encouraged. Visit any of the start locations with $20 and receive your wine glass and hand stamp (with photo ID), then make the rounds sampling wines at numerous businesses in the area from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. This is a 21+ event. Lights Up at The Summit - Saturday, November 18, 2017. The Lights Up celebration will include the official lighting of The Summit's holiday decorations and tree, a laser light show, arrival of Santa and Mrs. Claus, a live band and choir, food trucks, and more. The event will be at Center Plaza from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The Summit is at the corner of Mt. Rose Highway and S. Virginia Street.

Pie It Forward Bake Sale - Sunday, November 19, 2017. This bake sale, a fundraising event for the Food Bank of Northern Nevada, will be at the Peppermill, 2707 S. Virginia Street in Reno. Get fresh baked pumpkin pies for only $5. Pies will be available for purchase from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. in the hotel lobby next to the Bell Desk. All proceeds will be donated to the Food Bank.

Downtown Reno Ice Rink at Greater Nevada Field - opens for the season on Wednesday, November 22, 2017. There will be skating sessions every day through February 11, 2018 (weather and ice conditions permitting).

Thanksgiving Day Weekend - Thursday, November 23, 2017. There are lots of things to do on Thanksgiving Day and throughout the Thanksgiving weekend.

Dining Out on Thanksgiving Day - Thursday, November 23, 2017. Reno area hotel/casinos and some restaurants put on big spreads for Thanksgiving dinner. Look these over if eating out sounds better than cooking all day and then cleaning up.

Magic of Christmas Parade - Friday, November 24, 2017, 11 a.m. This is a long-time tradition at Shoppers Square. Come to this free event and see holiday characters, marching bands, and more at Reno's only Christmas parade. The big finale will feature Santa Claus arriving by horse and sleigh. There's also a Christmas tree lot run by Boy Scout Troop 107. Shoppers Square is at the corner of S. Virginia Street and E. Plumb Lane in Reno.

Black Friday in Midtown - Friday through Sunday, November 24 - 26, 2017, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Shop local and help others in our community. Donate $20 and receive a Black Friday in Midtown shopping pass. With this pass, you will receive freebies and discounts at participating Midtown merchants, restaurants, and bars. All proceeds benefit the non-profit Moms on the Run.

Wolf Pack Football - Saturday, November 25, 2017. The Nevada Wolf Pack football team takes on the UNLV Rebels in the "Battle for the Fremont Cannon." This intra-state rivalry is always a big game. This year, it's at Mackay Stadium in Reno. Kickoff is 12 noon. Go Pack!

Small Business Saturday - Saturday, November 25, 2017. Forget the Black Friday shopping frenzy after Thanksgiving. Use your shopping time and dollars to support locally owned businesses in the Reno area - keep your money here in the Truckee Meadows to improve our own economy and support your friends and neighbors rather than faceless corporations sucking money out of Nevada. The Small Business Saturday website has information for both business owners and shoppers.

Buttcracker 8 - The Biggest Little Buttcracker in the World - November 24 - 25, 30 and December 1 - 2, 6 - 9, 13 - 16, 20 - 23, 2017. Shows start at 8 p.m. Matinees on December 10 and 17 start at 2 p.m. Brüka Theatre presents this ridiculous parody and hysterical, historical time travel adventure. The show takes a trip through the history of Reno, celebrating 150 years of the BIGGEST little city in the world. Based on the holiday favorite "The Nutcracker." Suggested for ages 12 and up. Advance tickets are $22 for students/seniors, $24 general admission. All tickets are $30 at the door. Reservations are available through the box office at (775) 323-3221. Crafts for Christmas - Friday through Sunday, November 24 - 26, 2017. Come to The Nugget in Sparks to shop among over 100 craft and gift booths at this annual marketplace. Enjoy cooking, cocktail, and floral arranging demonstrations. Santa will visit and there will be activities for kids. Free admission and parking. Friday 12 noon to 6 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Sunday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Nevada Marketplace Christmas Expo - November 24 to December 24, 2017. Shop for products from over 250 made in Nevada merchants, all in one location at the Reno Town Mall. There is an amazing variety, including food, jewelry, wine, beer, pottery, clothing, candy, and lots more. The Reno Town Mall is at the corner of S. Virginia Street and Peckham Lane, across from the Reno-Sparks Convention Center.

Monthly Reno Beer Crawl - Saturday, November 25, 2017. This event is in downtown Reno where all of the participating bars, pubs, and restaurants are within walking (or crawling) distance. It costs $5 to participate and you can just show up at one of the start bars - advance tickets not required, but you can buy tickets online if you wish. Crawling is from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

The Unbelievables Christmas Extravaganza - November 21 to December 31, 2017. The Unbelievables will perform in the round in the renovated Eldorado Theatre with VIP seating and is a family-friendly spectacle for all. This show has circus acts, spectacular ballroom dancers and angelic voices singing your favorite Christmas carols. Shows are nightly Tuesday through Sunday with additional matinees on Saturdays and Sundays. Tickets are available online and start at $29.95.

Northern Lights Tahoe - November 30 through December 31, 2017. This festival of lights features the north Tahoe communities of Incline Village and Crystal Bay. There will be many special activities at various venues during the festival, including concerts, a Santa crawl, opening day at Diamond Peak ski resort, holiday craft fair, holiday sing-a-long, and lots more. Note that many activities are adults only. Check the website for a complete schedule of events.
