Summer Camps for Kids - Summer camps are starting. For the best choice and pricing, now is the time to get your kids signed up for the camps and activities they will enjoy during summer vacation.

Reno Aces Baseball - Friday, June 1, 2018. The Reno Aces' first home game in June at Aces Ballpark will be vs. the Las Vegas 51s, followed by 13 more home games during the month. Other opponents will include the Iowa Cubs, Omaha Storm Chasers and Salt Lake Bees. Two games are on Fridays, which will feature fireworks after the game.

Street Vibrations Spring Rally - Friday through Sunday, June 1 - 3, 2018. The annual event will feature live entertainment, bike games, competition ride-in shows, poker run, more than 80 vendor booths, and participant parties for registrants. The event is open and free to the public and will be centered in downtown Reno. Virginia City will host a poker walk, live entertainment, VIP bike parking and more. Chester's Reno Harley-Davidson will host open houses and special promotions.

Epic Crawl & Lightsaber Battle - Saturday, June 2, 2018, 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. Come crawl Reno dressed in your favorite cosplay costume from the movies, video games, TV, sci fi, fantasy or whatever. Bring your lightsaber (or buy one from Crawl Reno) to participate in a massive battle at Harrah's Plaza at 9:30 p.m. Visit the website for all the details. Public Swimming Pools and Water Play Places - Check out all of the water fun available in Reno, Sparks, and other places in Washoe County. When the heat's on, head for the water.

Discover Your Parks Walks - through September 27, 2018. Truckee Meadows Parks Foundation is leading free walks in different parks located in Washoe County. These walks start at 6 p.m. on Thursday evenings and vary in distance from half a mile to 2 miles. Each week, you can explore a new location and learn about the unique and varied ecology and history of parks in our area. Walks are open to all. Call (775) 453-0698 for more information.

Reno-Tahoe Odyssey - Friday and Saturday, June 1 - 2, 2018. This is a 178 mile running relay race that starts and finishes in Reno. Teams of up to 12 runners complete a big circle that includes climbing up to Lake Tahoe. Two sub-sections of the whole race will be run simultaneously on June 2 - the Capital Odyssey Relay from Carson City and the Comstock Odyssey Relay from Virginia City. Guided Walking Tours from HRPS - Saturday, June 2, 2018. The first guided walking tour in June from the Historic Reno Preservation Society will be "Movie Footprints in Reno." Several more walks are scheduled for Tuesdays and Saturdays in June, plus a Sunday bike tour. Join in to learn about many aspects of Reno's colorful history.

Summer Music Series at Lazy 5 Regional Park - Wednesday, June 6, 2018. This concert will be "A Tribute to One Hit Wonders with 'Wanderlust'". Other concerts with a variety of entertainers will follow on Wednesday evenings through August 1. Concerts are free and begin at 6:30 p.m. Bring the family and a picnic to enjoy the show. No pets or glass containers allowed. Lazy 5 Regional Park is at 7100 Pyramid Way out in Spanish Springs.

Nevada State Fair - Thursday through Sunday, June 7 - 10, 2018. The Nevada State Fair will be held at Mills Park in the Nevada state capital of Carson City. Family friendly as always, the event will have all the fun things to do fair goers have come to expect, from a midway carnival and rides to livestock and lots of entertainment. Fairgrounds entry and parking are free.

Wildflower walks at Spooner Lake - June 7, 9, 13, 15, 2018, 10 a.m. to 12 noon. Spooner Lake is home to over 100 different species of wildflowers. Join a wildflower expert for a leisurely two-mile walk around the lake to learn about plant names, uses, habitats and to enjoy their beauty. Park entrance fees are waived for this event. Dogs not recommended. Group size is limited to 12 participants - signups are required by calling (775) 749-5980 or emailing spooner.ranger@gmail.com. Spooner Lake is located up by Lake Tahoe, a quarter mile north of US Highway 50 on State Route 28.

Science Saturdays at the National Automobile Museum - Saturday, June 9, 2018. Join in on an adventure into the future - "Talking to Space." Admission is $12 per person for children and adults, which also includes admission to the Museum and free refreshments. For participants age 8 and up. Children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult. The event is from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Pre-registration is required approximately two days before the event. Kids Free Fishing Day - Saturday, June 9, 2018. Kids Free Fishing Day at Sparks Marina Park gives them the opportunity to catch their first fish. Free fishing poles and t-shirts for all kids who register. Fishing will be from 7 a.m. to 12 noon. Sponsored by Rotary Club of Sparks. During Nevada's annual Free Fishing Day, anglers may fish in any public fishing water in the state without needing a fishing license or trout stamp. All limits and other regulations apply.

Hands ON! Second Saturdays - Saturday, June 9, 2018. Come to the Nevada Museum of Art for a day of fun family activities and free admission for all. The theme varies for each Second Saturday, but there are always arts and crafts for kids and other special activities. Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Discover Nevada State Parks Day - Saturday, June 9, 2018. Free admission to all 23 Nevada State Parks. This statewide event encourages Nevadans to discover the many exciting and affordable recreation opportunities right in their own backyards. Discover Nevada State Parks Day is also an opportunity for visitors to take the passport challenge and add a stamp to their passport booklet or to pick one up while visiting any state park.

Biggest Little Treasure Hunt - Saturday, June 9, 2018. The Biggest Little Treasure Hunt is a citywide event that will have participants exploring over 30 parks to find clues and solve riddles for points. Bonus points will be awarded for those that bike to the parks. The team with the most points wins the cash grand prize of $300. There will also be prizes for Best Costume and Best Team Spirit. The event begins at 2 p.m. at Idlewild Park and goes till 7 p.m., when there will be an awards picnic. Sponsored by Truckee Meadows Parks Foundation.

Weekend Nature Walks at Wilbur D. May Arboretum & Botanical Garden - Saturdays, June 9, 16, 23, 2018, 10 a.m. Visitors must bring a notebook and a pencil to record their discoveries. This free program is designed for families with children ages 10 and younger. Meet up point is at the May Arboretum West Entrance, next to the May Museum. No registration required. Mark Wellman's Adventure Day at Sparks Marina - Sunday, June 10, 2018, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. A variety of adaptive sports will be featured at the free annual Mark Wellman's Adventure Day event at the Sparks Marina Park. People with disabilities and their friends and families are invited to try out hand-cycling, kayaking and rock climbing through the use of a broad range of adaptive equipment.

70 Years of Porshe Celebration at the National Automobile Museum - Sunday, June 10, 2018, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. In honor of Porsche's 70th Birthday, Porsche of Reno invites you to spend the day, with free admission, at the National Automobile Museum to celebrate the birthday of the iconic Porsche brand.

Primary Election Day - Tuesday, June 12, 2018. Exercise your right to vote and help elect a whole slate of local, state, and federal candidates. Polls are open until 7 p.m.

Reno Rodeo - Thursday through Saturday, June 14 - 23, 2018. The Reno Rodeo is a huge event with lots of activities and things to do for the whole family in addition to the rodeo itself. You don't need to be a buckaroo to enjoy the fun and action at the "Wildest, Richest Rodeo in the West."

Flag Day at the Courthouse - Thursday, June 14, 2018, 5:30 p.m. The Second Judicial District Court will celebrate Flag Day 2018 with an event that will make you salute. State and local officials will lead a traditional hometown celebration which will inspire community pride and patriotism. The Court is pleased to announce Governor Brian Sandoval as the Keynote Speaker. Other guest speakers include Justice Lidia S. Stiglich, Chief Judge Scott Freeman, Councilwoman Naomi Duerr, and Washoe County Chair Marsha Berkbigler. The Courthouse is at 1 South Sierra Street in downtown Reno. (775) 325-6623.

Great Eldorado BBQ, Brews & Blues Festival - Friday and Saturday, June 15 - 16, 2018. The Great Eldorado BBQ, Brews and Blues Festival is equal parts barbecue block party, microbrew tasting event with more than 50 microbrews from around the world and music festival with two stages featuring nonstop rock and blues. It's free to attend and enjoy the sights, sounds, and music in downtown Reno, but you'll have to bring money for the brews and BBQ.

30th Annual Juneteenth Celebration - Saturday, June 16, 2018. Juneteenth is the day African-Americans celebrate their independence. The Northern Nevada Black Cultural Awareness Society (NNBCAS) invites the entire community to join this celebration with a festival of music, arts, ethnic food, crafts, and entertainment. The event will be in Wingfield Park in downtown Reno.

Reno Wine Walk - Saturday, June 16, 2018. The Riverwalk Merchants present this fun event every third Saturday of the month. Visit any of the participating merchants with $20 and receive your wine glass and hand stamp (with photo ID), then make the rounds sampling wines at numerous businesses in the area. This is a 21+ event. Pets and strollers are not advised. For more information, call 775-825-WALK(9255).

Father's Day - Sunday, June 17, 2018. There are lots of fun things you can do to treat your Dad on his special day.

Ready. Set. Explore: "Walk with Washoe" - Tuesday, June 19, 2018. Free guided walking hikes through Washoe County's parks and trails. This walk is 1.7 miles in Davis Creek Regional Park. Others in the series will be on July 18 and 26, August 21, September 18 and October 2. Bring the family and get active together while exploring nature through all the scenic parks and trails Washoe County has to offer.

First Day of Summer - Thursday, June 21, 2018.

Regional Safety and Emergency Preparedness Expo - Thursday, June 21, 2018, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Learn how to prepare for natural and man-made disasters and talk to experts about safety, health and wellness. There will be demonstrations, booths and exhibits, and food trucks. The Expo will be at City Plaza, across from Reno City Hall and next to the Truckee River.

Monthly Reno Beer Crawl - Saturday, June 23, 2018. This event is in downtown Reno where all of the participating bars, pubs, and restaurants are within walking (or crawling) distance. It costs $5 to participate and you can just show up at one of the start bars - advance tickets not required. Crawling is from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Reno Arch Celebration - Monday, June 25, 2018, 8 p.m. Join the party and celebrate the refreshed Reno Arch with music, fireworks and the #BiggestLittleSelfie. Wear your best 1980s outfit.

Midtown Art Walk - Thursday, June 28, 2017, 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. This free event is your opportunity to explore the vibrant neighborhood with family and friends of all ages. From longtime local favorites, to brand new shops, restaurants and venues, you're sure to find something for everyone to enjoy.

Last Friday in Sparks - June 29, 2018. The City of Sparks has teamed up with the Sparks Museum and Cultural Center for a special event the last Friday of the month through September at Victorian Square. Visitors can experience the museum, tour the train and Glendale Schoolhouse for free with docents on hand for tours. Free movies are scheduled in the amphitheater starting around 8 p.m. Local bands will play on the Great Basin Stage at 7:30 p.m.

2018 Summer Reading Program - June 1 through August 31, 2018. Sign up online or go to one of your Washoe County Library branches to sign up. Everyone in the family can earn points and collect badges for doing all kinds of stuff over the summer, like reading, playing games, going to library programs and experiencing things in your community. For other fun free stuff going on at the libraries, refer to "Free Events and Programs at Washoe County Libraries."

Reno Art Fest 2018 - Saturday and Sunday, June 30 to July 1, 2018. This lead-up to Artown takes place in downtown Reno on N. Virginia Street between 4th and 6th Streets. It includes the Circus Circus 24-hour Mural Marathon, an artists sale, Cre8tive Zone of interactive art fun, performance by Controlled Burn and a Saturday Celebration with music, food trucks, a beer garden and march to Wingfield Park for Artown opening night.

Artown Opening Night - Sunday, July 1, 2018. This big free event in Wingfield Park starts the 23rd annual Artown festival in Reno. Come enjoy an evening of free music and other activities, then enjoy Artown events throughout the whole month of July. The opening night headliner will be Los Lobos. The show starts at 7:30 p.m., but get there early if you want a good seat - park opens at 5 p.m.

US Open of Watercross at Sparks Marina - Saturday and Sunday, June 30 and July 1, 2018. It's a great family outing and free to spectators. The US Open of Watercross draws top competitors worldwide in pursuit of the US Open title. Other events will be hydroflight and SUP-cross. Spend the weekend at Sparks Marina and enjoy great racing.

Dragon Lights - Wilbur D. May Arboretum and Botanical Garden Illuminated - June 30 to August 5, 2018. Dragon Lights Reno will bring larger-than-life, fully-illuminated lanterns, as well as Chinese cultural performances and authentic handicrafts to the May Arboretum and Botanical Garden. There are a variety of tickets available, both online and at the door. The event is at Wilbur D. May Arboretum and Botanical Garden in Rancho San Rafael Regional Park at 1595 N. Sierra Street in Reno.
