Big events during June, 2015 include...

Reno Aces Baseball - Monday, June 1, 2015. The Reno Aces' first home game in June at Aces Ballpark will be vs. the New Orleans Zephyrs, followed by 12 more home games during the month. Other opponents will include the Round Rock Express, Tacoma Rainiers, and Fresno Grizzlies.

Guided Walking Tours from HRPS - Tuesday, June 2, 2015. The first guided walking tour in June from the Historic Reno Preservation Society will be the Historic UNR Campus. Several more walks are scheduled for Tuesdays and Saturdays in June, plus one on Thursday, June 11. Join in to learn about many aspects of Reno's colorful history.

Street Vibrations Spring Rally - Friday through Sunday, June 5 - 7, 2015. The 9th annual event will feature live entertainment, bike games, competition ride-in shows, poker run, more than 80 vendor booths, and participant parties for registrants. The event is open and free to the public and will be centered in downtown Reno. Virginia City will host a poker walk, live entertainment, VIP bike parking and more. Chester's Reno Harley-Davidson will host open houses and special promotions.

EuroFest at the Sands Regency - Friday through Sunday, June 5 - 7, 2015. This free Oktoberfest themed event will feature lots of free entertainment, authentic European food, craft vendors, and over 50 taps pouring a variety of Old World beers. Proceeds benefit Shriners Hospitals for Children.

Adventure Day at Sparks Marina Park - Sunday, June 7, 2015. People with disabilities and their friends and family members are invited to explore summertime sports at the City of Sparks Adventure Day event at the Sparks Marina. The free event will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with hand-cycling, kayaking, sailing, and adapted rock climbing in a fun, safe environment. Mark Wellman, a two-time Para-Olympian and nationally acclaimed author, filmmaker and motivational speaker, will be on hand to guide participants through the activities featured, along with volunteers from the City of Reno, the Bay Area Outreach and Recreation Program, and Sierra Nevada Community Sailing. Cowboy Crawl - Friday, June 12, 2015. The Cowboy Crawl is on Victorian Square in Sparks. Get your cowboy (and cowgirl) on while you ride between several participating watering holes from 7 p.m. to 12 midnight. This country/western pub crawl includes dancing, mechanical bull riding and more. Tickets are $5 in advance, $10 the day of the event and include a souvenir cup.

Children's Book Sale - Friday and Saturday, June 12 - 13, 2015. Friends of Washoe County Library will be holding a sale of childrens books in mall area of the Reno Town Mall (corner of S. Virginia and Peckham – across from the Atlantis Hotel & Casino). Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days. All books are 25¢ and 50¢. Stock up for the kids summer reading.

Muckfest: Mining, Whiskey & Cigars - Saturday, June 13, 2015. Celebrate Nevada's mining history at Muckfest: Mining, Whiskey & Cigars in Virginia City. Bring the family and experience the past, present and future of Comstock mining. Let the kids learn how to mine in the Comstock Mining Village with Kids Cookie Mining and other mining exhibits. Watch contestants compete in a single jack exhibiton for a purse of $1000. For adults, there will be a Whiskey and Cigar lounge. Purchase tickets online for a tasting glass and enjoy various whiskeys and cigars in the lounge. Muckfest will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the parking lot of the Delta Saloon.

Kids Free Fishing Day - Saturday, June 13, 2015. Kids Free Fishing Day at Sparks Marina Park gives them the opportunity to catch their first fish. Free fishing poles for all kids who register. Fishing will be from 7 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Fishing for adults and kids with disabilities will be on June 11. Sponsored by Rotary Club of Sparks. During Nevada's annual Free Fishing Day, anglers may fish in any public fishing water in the state without needing a fishing license or trout stamp. All limits and other regulations apply.

"Discover Nevada State Parks" Day - Saturday, June 13, 2015. Park visitors will receive free day use admission and free fishing (no license required) at all of Nevada's 23 State Parks. Discover Nevada State Parks day is also an opportunity for visitors to take the passport challenge and add a stamp to their Nevada State Parks passport booklet, or if they don’t have one yet, to pick one up while visiting a state park. Once visitors have their passports stamped at 15 different parks, they will earn a free annual pass to all Nevada State Parks.

Hands ON! Second Saturdays - Saturday, June 13, 2015. Come to the Nevada Museum of Art for a day of fun family activities and free admission for all. The theme on this Second Saturday is "Barrio Block Party." This special day will include food and craft vendors, free music and live performances, and lots of special activities. Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Tour de Nez - Saturday, June 13, 2015. Professional bicycle criterium racing and other events come to downtown Reno. This is a great spectator event and wannabes can try out real bicycle racing. For fun, there will be events like the Kids Race and Klunker Classic. Racing starts at 8 a.m. and goes all day to the championship finals in the evening.

Quail Quest: Truckee Meadows Treasure Hunt - Saturday, June 13, 2015. Truckee Meadows Parks Foundation is hosting an all-day (8 a.m. to 5 p.m.) photo scavenger hunt through Reno, Sparks, and Washoe County parks, trails and open spaces. It will be followed by a picnic and award ceremony in Idlewild Park from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. There will be prizes, free beer and other beverages, and local food trucks. All ages are encouraged to participate. $50 per team of 5 (additional members $10/each). For more information, call (775) 276-5816.

2015 Octane Fest - Friday through Sunday, June 12 - 14, 2015. Three different high-powered events are sure to get your adrenaline pumping. Events include King of the West Sprint Cars, top fuel drag racing, and a jamboree with monster trucks, truck and tractor pull, freestyle motocross and fireworks finale. Events are at different venues in Fallon, 60 miles east of Reno/Sparks. Visit the Octane Fest schedule for all the details.

Summer Music Series at Lazy 5 Regional Park - Wednesday, June 17, 2015. The first concert of the series will be country and rock with Nevada Hazzurd. Other concerts with a variety of entertainers will follow on Wednesday evenings through August 12. Concerts are free and begin at 6:30 p.m. Bring the family and a picnic to enjoy the show. No pets or glass containers allowed. There will also be a farmers market going on during the shows. Lazy 5 Regional Park is at 7100 Pyramid Way out in Spanish Springs.

27th Annual Juneteenth Celebration - Saturday, June 20, 2015. Juneteenth is the day African-Americans celebrate their independence. The Northern Nevada Black Cultural Awareness Society (NNBCAS) invites the entire community to join this celebration with a festival of music, arts, ethnic food, crafts, and entertainment. The event will be in Wingfield Park in downtown Reno.

Reno Wine Walk - Saturday, June 20, 2015. The Riverwalk Merchants present this fun event every third Saturday of the month. Visit any of the participating merchants with $20 and receive your wine glass and hand stamp (with photo ID), then make the rounds sampling wines at numerous businesses in the area. This is a 21+ event. Pets and strollers are not advised. For more information, call 775-825-WALK(9255).

Reno Rodeo - Thursday through Saturday, June 18 - 27, 2015. The Reno Rodeo is a huge event with lots of activities and things to do for the whole family in addition to the rodeo itself. You don't need to be a buckaroo to enjoy the fun and action at the "Wildest, Richest Rodeo in the West."

Great Eldorado BBQ, Brews & Blues Festival - Friday and Saturday, June 19 - 20, 2015. The Great Eldorado BBQ, Brews and Blues Festival is equal parts barbecue block party, microbrew tasting event with more than 40 microbrews from around the world and music festival with two stages featuring nonstop rock and blues. It's free to attend and enjoy the sights, sounds, and music in downtown Reno, but you'll have to bring money for the brews and BBQ. The party runs from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday and from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday.

Guided Walking Tours of the May Arboretum and Botanical Garden - Saturday, June 20, 2015. The May Arboretum Society is hosting guided walking tours of the Arboretum and Botanical Gardens the 3rd Saturday of each month from May through September. Each guided walk has a theme with the June 20 walk focusing on the history of the gardens and an introduction to the unique plants in the gardens. Walks start at 9:30 a.m. at the Ranch House in Rancho San Rafael Regional Park. May Arboretum Society members are free, others are $5.

2015 Nevada Humanities Festival and Chautauqua: The Wilderness - Main performances Tuesday through Friday, June 23 - 26, 2015. Most performances are at Robert Z. Hawkins Amphitheater in Bartley Ranch Regional Park. The Nevada Humanities Festival features Chautauqua presentations, workshops, special events, book discussions, and more during June. Reno Wild Life at Chapel Tavern - Wednesday, June 24, from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. Reno Wild Life (RWL) celebrates the array of outdoor adventure found in the region. It's a benefit for non-profit organizations that support both the environment and those who revel in it. Outdoor films featuring sports from around the area will be shown on a big screen while Chapel serves up their signature libations, craft brews and biodynamic wines. Raffle prizes provided by event partners Patagonia and local outfitters related to the sport being highlighted that night will be given away. A minimum $5 suggested donation to the nonprofit of the evening will receive a raffle ticket and $20 will get you five tickets. Chapel Tavern is in midtown at 1099 S. Virginia Street. Regional Safety & Emergency Preparedness Expo - Thursday, June 25, 2015. Expo will have demonstrations (K-9 team, river rescue, CPR, fire extinguisher safety, etc.) as well as safety information by city departments, regional agencies and private companies. It's free to attend the Expo at Wingfield Park, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

USAF Band of the Golden West - Saturday, June 27, 2015. The USAF Band of the Golden West will present a free (no tickets required) concert by The Commanders Jazz Ensemble, 7 p.m. at the Robert Z. Hawkins Amphitheater in Bartley Ranch Regional Park, 6000 Bartley Ranch Road in Reno.

Monthly Reno Beer Crawl - Saturday, June 27, 2015. This event is in downtown Reno where all of the participating bars, pubs, and restaurants are within walking (or crawling) distance. It costs $5 to participate and you can just show up at one of the start bars - advance tickets not required. Crawling is from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
