About the 2020 Nevada Democratic Caucus

The Nevada Democratic Caucus is where voters get to make their choice for the Democratic presidential nominee in 2020. We are the third state in the nation where voters get to directly participate in the nominating process. The 2020 Nevada Democratic Caucus will be held on Saturday, February 22. To participate, you must be registered to vote as a Democrat. It is easy to register to vote in Nevada. If need be, you can also update your voter registration information from the same register to vote location. You can register to vote as a Democrat, or change party affiliation, on caucus day and during the early voting period.

Precinct Caucus

To caucus in person, you go to your precinct caucus location on Saturday, February 22, 2020. Registration begins at 10 a.m. and the caucus begins at 12 noon. There are caucus day locations throughout Nevada. There is a list of all sites in Nevada, plus sub-lists for each county.

Early Voting in the 2020 Nevada Democratic Caucus

It is not necessary to attend the caucus in person to cast your presidential preference ballot. Early voting is available from Saturday, February 15, 2020 through Tuesday, February 18, 2020. You can early vote at any location in your county. Be sure to refer to the early voting sites list for a location convenient for you. Note that voting hours are limited and not every location is open every day during the early voting period. Early vote ballots are counted with your precinct on caucus day.

More Information about the 2020 Nevada Democratic Caucus

No Republican Caucus

The Nevada Republican Party has opted to not hold a 2020 nominating caucus. Instead, the Nevada Republican Party will vote to pledge its delegates to the incumbent on the same day as the Democratic presidential caucus. The state GOP's winter meeting will bind the state's delegates to the president without a large-scale, possibly competitive caucus. The Republican National Committee is encouraging state parties to cancel primary and caucus elections to avoid any challenges to the incumbent. (Source: The Ely Times of Ely, Nevada)
